LICUALA
GRANDIS
Fan Palm
Licuala grandis is a very special rare palm. It is of
interest to palm collectors and tropical plant enthusiast
alike. Described best by its single trunk, ruffled fronds
and red fruit. A smaller palm
than most and kind of slow growing. It works great in
containers and will even do well indoors.
In the landscape it adds a very tropical element. However,
if grow outside in the landscape,
plant it in a protected area. Its quite cold sensitive.
Also avoid strong wind as they can
damage the large fronds.
