The
Strobilanthes flaccidifolius is a beautiful blooming shrub for shaded
areas. It is a relatively fast grower with soft weeping stems and
many hanging bell shaped magenta flowers.
The Chinese Rain Bell starts to flower in the middle of the winter
and should rebloom again in the spring. Trimming is recommended a
few times a year, especially after flowers to encourage branching
and more flowers. The growing conditions are shade or filtered light,
average moisture and fertilization. The plant should be protected
against stormy winds and freezing temperatures
