Purple Glory Tree
Tibouchina Granulosa
is one of the best flowering trees in south Florida, blooming for most of
the year. This Brazilian native does not get very big in Florida, growing
more like a big shrub and reaching an average of 15 feet. This particular
species of Tibouchina needs good drainage acidic soil in order to prosper.
The use of a fertilizer for acid loving plants is recommended.
It will grow in full to partial sun, needs average water, and freezing temperatures
should be avoided. This Tibouchina blooms on the new growth, therefore trimming
